Hasegawa has announced another limited edition JSPC version of their Mazda 767B kit, this time for 767B-001 in the white/black/dayglow-red livery of the Alexel/Autorama sponsored team TAKU as it competed in the Fuji 1000 JSPC race in October 1991.
Hasegawa info says '1991' but during the 1991 season this car sported an all-red livery as far as I can tell.
As can be deduced from the 'Ford' badges on the front and sides of the car, team TAKU replaced the Mazda 13J rotary engine with a 3.5ltr Ford Cosworth DFR V8. This change is not limited to the inside of the engine bay, it also required changes to the bodywork (side mounted exhaust removed, reconfigured radiators and oil coolers).
The kit is scheduled for release in early October 2019 (Mazda 767B "1991 JSPC", Limited Edition, cat nr.20421, price 3000 yen).
